If Not Now, When?
I’m sure everyone can relate to waiting for the 'right time'. I hate that, but it’s addictive. 'The right time' seduces us with its disguise of safety and comfort, when really it’s only offering us wasted time and a false sense of control.
Sometimes we just need to take that leap, ask that question, or sometimes just buy those friggin shoes. Everything almost always just falls into place, because the universe is always just conspiring to get us what we want anyway, whether we choose to believe that, or not.
So my leap today was creating this website to showcase my artwork and the little things that inspire me. So much of life is ugly. Ugly, in the sense that it's nothing like any of us imagined when we were small. A lot of the times when life gets hard, I hold on to aesthetic beauty, man-made or natural. Be it a pair of shoes, the way the sun light hits the ripples in my tea-cup, or a great tune. There are still people out there who will look down on these kinds of things-- calling them fleeting or shallow, or worse ‘unimportant’. But at the end of the day, we are all living in a gigantic work of art. Artificial and organic. So this is just my outlet to praise and highlight the things that inspire me to create, write, and fight another day when life gets out of hand.
